What Brought You To Trinity?
The organizing minister of Tates Creek Presbyterian Church invited interested parents to attend a meeting to explore the possibility of starting a Christian school. I have an education background and my husband, a physician, has administrative gifts. We felt the Lord leading us to attend the meeting. We attended that first meeting in 1987. In 1988, the church doors opened to a preschool class and a kindergarten/first-grade combination class with about 25 students in total. Our oldest son Bryce was in that first kindergarten class.
What Do You Do as a Board Member?
I have served on the Trinity Christian Academy board for a total of 10 years. I also have served on the admissions committee and curriculum committee throughout my 30 years at Trinity Christian Academy. Currently, my role on the board consists of being a member of the Executive Committee which meets with Peter Hansen each month prior to our board meeting to encourage and support him in his role as headmaster.
Tell Us About Your Professional Background
I graduated from North Park College in Chicago, Illinois, majoring in elementary education. I had a particular interest in children’s literature; therefore when Trinity was preparing to start a library, I jumped in and started buying and gathering the best books I could find to fill the shelves of the Trinity library. I served in that role as the librarian for 18 years.
Tell Us About Your Family
Greg and I have been married for 43 years we were blessed to have three sons, all of whom attended Trinity. Our three sons all are married and we are very blessed to have four lovely grandchildren. We have an Australian Labradoodle puppy named Tucker who keeps us busy and laughing.

What Are Your Favorite Hobbies?
My favorite hobbies are gardening and oil painting. I particularly enjoy landscapes.
What About Trinity’s Future Excites You?
I’m very excited for the future of Trinity Christian Academy as we proceed with building the Cowen Campus on Brannon Rd. This campus will provide our students with needed space for a soccer field, gymnasium, and abundant classroom facilities.
Who has been one of the biggest influences in your life?
The biggest influencer in my life has been my mother. My mother, Gladys Olson, grew up on a farm in North Dakota. She felt a call to serve through nursing. Mom moved to Chicago to acquire a degree in nursing then on to New York City where she met my dad. My mother has a passion for the Lord and his Kingdom work. Both my parents were instrumental in planting a church in our hometown on Long Island.
What Is Your Favorite Part About the Trinity Community?
My favorite part of the Trinity community is the love and passion the teachers and staff display for the children under their tutelage.
