What Do You Do as a Board Member?

I am the Chairman of the Board; I served on the Board from 2009-2015, serving the last three years as Chairman. I rejoined the Board in 2018 as Chairman and my second six-year term will end July, 2024

What Brought You To Trinity?

We were homeschooling using a classical Christian curriculum; my wife, Jenny, found Trinity after searching online for options for Classical Christian schools.

Tell Us About Your Professional Background

I am President and CEO of Community and Investment Company, which is the investment arm of Community Trust Bancorp, Inc. I have been with CTIC for 19 years, after doing something similar for a bank in North Carolina for 16.5 years.

Tell Us About Your Family

My wife, Jenny, and I have been married for almost 28 years. She is the BSF Teaching Leader for the Women’s Day Class that meets at Southland Christian Church on Richmond Road. We have five children who all attended or graduated from Trinity. Grace (class of 2015) is married to Caleb Long (class of 2015); they live in Nashville; Grace is a neonatal nurse at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital (she graduated from Belmont University); Caleb is a second year Law student at Belmont. Anna Ruth (class of 2016) lives in Lexington and is a Speech Language Pathologist at Core4 Therapy and she spends one day per week at Trinity. She earned her undergraduate degree from Samford University and earned her graduate degree from UK. Benjamin (class of 2018) graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in May 2022 and is in grad school at MIT. He married his wife, April, in May 2022; April is a preschool teacher. Joseph (class of 2020) is a junior at Samford University, studying Sports Administration. He will graduate in 2024; he holds the career scoring record for Trinity Boys Basketball with 2,079 points. Mary Katherine (class of 2025) is a sophomore at Trinity, plays volleyball, participates in musicals and loves music, she sings and plays the piano.

Where Did You Go To College and What Did You Study?

I graduated in 1987 from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC. I have a Bachelor of Business Administration in Trust Management. Campbell is the only school in the nation with this degree.

What Are Your Favorite Hobbies?

Pickleball, watching college football and basketball, and taking trips with Jenny and our kids.
