“I am truly blessed to be able to watch the amazing education my kids receive on a daily basis.  The teachers pour love and God’s word into all of these wonderful children everyday.  I am grateful to be tasked as the Security School Officer and would do anything to protect our school. “

– Samantha Moore

Samantha Moore, the Security Resource Officer at our Lower Campus, served for 18 years with the Lexington Police Department where she served as patrol officer, accreditation manager, patrol supervisor, grants manager, and she retired as a patrol Lieutenant. After retirement, she served for 1.5 years for the Fayette County Sheriff’s office as a School Resource Officer before moving to Trinity Security, a private company owned by our security director, Erik Cobb.

We sat down with Samantha Moore to learn a little bit more about her role here and why she feels called to serve our school:

How did you become interested in law enforcement?

I always wanted to be in a helping profession. I enjoyed the idea that my office was never four walls and every day could be different.

What brought you to Trinity?

We became part of the Trinity family in 2019 when our oldest enrolled into Kindergarten. Then it was all God’s plan in how I became the Security Officer.

What does a typical day at Trinity look like for you?

Lots of high fives and smiles! I walk a lot and ensure the property is secure. I stay very aware of all the activities taking place.

How do you like to spend your free time outside of school?
As a family, we love to travel and experience new things together. Alone, I enjoy reading, cooking, and gardening.

Do you have a favorite quote?

“If it falls your lot to be a street sweeper, sweep streets like Michelangelo painted pictures, like Shakespeare wrote poetry, like Beethoven composed music; sweep streets so well that all the host of Heaven and earth will have to pause and say, ‘Here lived a great street sweeper, who swept his job well.'” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

We are so grateful for Samantha and her service to our school! The next time you are helping out in a classroom or stopping by to worship in chapel, be sure to stop and talk to Samantha and thank her for her service to our students.
