Meet the Teacher Nights

Parents: Don’t miss our “Meet the Teacher” Nights this week:

  • Upper School: 7 pm, Thursday, Aug. 25

We have new faces for you to meet on both campuses! These events will help you start the school year with clear expectations and excellent communication. Take advantage of this opportunity to help set your student up for success!

Welcome our New Faculty Members

Below are our new faculty members, for whom we are thanking God! He has brought teachers who love Him first and are gifted in teaching and working with young people. Welcome!

Lower School

Emily DeLong is our new MWF PreK teacher (morning and full day combined). Mrs. DeLong has a B.A. in Education from the University of Kentucky. She has taught preschool at the Lexington Latin School, and she taught sixth grade at Trinity several years ago. She and her husband Jason have four children: Jack (8th), Lily (6th), Caroline (2nd), and Sam (K).

Jessica Evans our new first grade teacher. Mrs. Evans has an A.S. in Health Information Management and a B.A. in Education from Eastern Kentucky University. She taught first grade at the Lexington Latin School. Jessica and David have three children, Rommel (7th), Noah (4th), and Lily (3rd). 

Amelia Wilson will teach Lower School Music this year. She has a B.M.M.E. in Choral Music Education from the University of Kentucky. Miss Wilson is a graduate of Trinity and is very familiar with our music program. She has been working closely with Mrs. Burke this summer and is very excited about teaching your children. Miss Wilson also will lead the Lower School Strings program this year.

Danielle Witherington will teach our full day T/Th PreK class and will serve as our Early Learning Coordinator, working with the PreK and Kindergarten teachers in developing and implementing curriculum and assisting in teacher training. She attended Jackson State University and specialized in Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Witherington taught preschool at the Lexington Latin School for six years. Danielle and her husband Will have four children: Sarah (12th), Laura (10th), Caroline (7th), and Will (5th).

Upper School

Aaron Ames will teach Rhetoric, Advanced Logic, English III, and Speech and Debate this year. He is a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary and earned a M.A. in Theological Studies with an emphasis in Philosophy, as well as a M.A. in Biblical Studies, with emphases in New Testament and Greek. Mr. Ames completed his B.A. in Letters (Classics, Philosophy, Literature, and Languages) at the University of Oklahoma. He has a long history of involvement in a variety of sports and will be assisting Mr. Valentine in coaching our soccer team.

Elizabeth Ward is our new teacher for 7th Life Science, 8th Earth Science, and 12th Physics. She went to Butler University to earn a M.A. in Secondary Education, and Georgetown College for her B.S. in Biology. She brings several years of teaching experience in a variety of science classes at the middle and high school levels.


Back to School

Can you believe the summer is almost over? It is almost time to finish up summer reading and start checking off the list of school supplies. Make sure you are prepared in advance by reading the back to school information here.

Trinity in Togo

A team made up of some Trinity Christian Academy representatives is serving overseas in Togo, West Africa, this week! The group is working with our partner school, New Beginnings Christian School, and Grace Orphanage. Team members will spend time with the students and orphans, as well as completing some basic maintenance jobs at the school and orphanage. They are scheduled to return Thursday, August 4.
