Robert Cunningham, TCPC Senior Minister and Trinity Interim Head of School
Robert Cunningham, Senior Pastor of Tates Creek Presbyterian Church, is a Lexington native. He graduated from Henry Clay High School in 1998 and attended Murray State University, receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Communications. Upon graduation in 2002, he interned at Tates Creek Presbyterian Church and then moved to St. Louis, MO, to attend Covenant Theological Seminary. After graduating Covenant in 2006 with a Master’s of Divinity, he was called back to Tates Creek Presbyterian Church. Robert has served as the senior pastor since 2012. He and his wife Abby have four sons, and two of them are students at Trinity.

Andy Waters served on Trinity’s Board from 2009-2015. He was Chairman from 2012-2015. He and his wife, Jenny, have five children – three graduates of Trinity – Grace (2015), Anna Ruth (2016) and Benjamin (2018), and two current students at Trinity – Joseph (2020) and Mary Katherine (2025). The Waters Family moved to Lexington from North Carolina in 2004 and has been part of Trinity since 2005 and Tates Creek Presbyterian Church since 2006. Andy has been an elder at TCPC since 2013 and also serves on the Finance Committee. In addition, he is on Trinity’s Development Committee and Leadership Council for The Brannon Project. When he is not serving at Trinity or TCPC, Andy is President and CEO of Community Trust and Investment Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Community Trust Bancorp, Inc.

David Cowen has been involved with Trinity since his daughter Hannah started as a student in high school several years ago. David has been at Tates Creek Presbyterian Church since 1984 and was around when Trinity started in 1988. He has prayed for it, supported it, and cheered for it since then! David is a surgeon specializing in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery with a practice that extends from Bowling Green to Huntington. His areas of board expertise include public relations, his history with the school and church, role as an elder, encouragement, prayer, and heart for charitable giving.

Jeffery L. Payne is the KPMG Professor in the Von Allmen School of Accountancy, Gatton College of Business and Economics, at the University of Kentucky. He and his wife Teena have been active members of TCPC for five years. He earned his BSBA (1980) in Accounting at the University of Tulsa, an MBA (1981) from the University of Arkansas, and a PhD (1995) from the University of Florida. He practiced as a CPA in Tulsa, Oklahoma, serving individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations. His prior employment in academia includes the University of Mississippi and the University of Oklahoma.

Allison Gordon is an associate professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Kentucky and has been a member of the Trinity board since 2015. She earned her BA (2004) in English Literature from Wheaton College (IL), and she earned her MA (2006) and PhD (2010) in Communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has been a source of guidance for our graduating seniors on how to navigate life as a freshman in college, and she has served as a panelist for Senior Thesis Presentations.
Paul Adams, TCPC Deacon Representative: firstname.lastname@example.org
Paul Adams works for a college ministry called Campus Outreach. His role is to resource the ministry using graphic, print, and web design, as well as photography, videography, and other technology and communication resources. Paul grew up north of Chicago where he attended a private Christian school through 8th grade, and a public high school. He moved to Kentucky to attend Centre College where he graduated in 2011 with a degree in music, which is still one of his greatest passions.

Stan Ferguson joined Trinity’s board in October 2015. He and his wife Kelly have been a part of the Trinity family since 2008. Their sons, Christopher and Matthew, are students at Trinity. Stan is a native Kentuckian, raised in Franklin just south of Bowling Green. He earned his BS degree in Biology and graduated cum laude from Lipscomb University in 1987. Stan received his DMD degree graduating with distinction from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in May of 1992. He was awarded a Specialty Certificate and Master’s in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from UK College of Dentistry in June 1995. Stan has maintained a private practice specializing in orthodontics for the past 20 years. He co-owns Bluegrass Orthodontics PSC.
Carroll Ruschman: firstname.lastname@example.org
Carroll Ruschman joined the Trinity board in October 2015. She and her husband Eric have twin girls, Beth Ann and Gretchen Ruschman. The girls started school at Trinity Christian Academy in the first grade. Carroll has been active with the PTF, Trinity’s Gala, as well as other parent volunteer activities for the past eight years.
